Empowering creativity, uniting communities through art.
Community-engaged art has the power to transform lives—sparking connection, amplifying voices, and creating spaces where everyone belongs.
As an emerging facilitator working with the public since 2022, I’ve seen firsthand how collaborative art projects can bridge divides, heal communities, and inspire collective joy. My passion lies in crafting inclusive, accessible experiences that celebrate creativity and empower individuals to share their stories.
Whether it’s a mural, a workshop, or a pop-up installation, I believe art is a tool for building stronger, more vibrant communities.

about me
Hi! I'm Sarah Imrisek (cymatiste). I make art in the streets and with the community. My practice is based in Tkaronto/Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but you can also see my murals in Hamilton, Ontario and Chicago, Illinois.
My work as a community artist is rooted in the belief that creativity is a universal language, capable of bridging differences, fostering connection, and empowering individuals to see themselves and others in new ways. Through collaborative, hands-on projects, I aim to create spaces where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can come together to explore their creativity, share stories, and build meaningful connections. I strive to design activities that are accessible, engaging, and deeply inclusive.
I am passionate about using art as a tool for social change, community building, and personal growth. My approach is playful and participatory, inviting people to contribute in ways that feel authentic to them, whether they’re seasoned artists or picking up a paintbrush for the first time. I find joy in witnessing the unexpected moments of connection and self-discovery that arise when people create together, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired through the process. For me, community art is not just about the final product—it’s about the shared experience, the laughter, the conversations, and the sense of belonging that emerges when we make something beautiful together.
"cymatiste" is derived from cymatics, the study of sound vibrations on a physical medium. I try to bring the invisible -- energy, spirit, joy -- to light through my art, and to help others discover their own creative talents through workshops and community art activations.
